That sucks - A good body shop can fix with no problem. It's a shame you are not near me. I would just do it. My show car is being re-done now and based on our process tests, the paint will be way over the top. I will have pictures after we finish the body and re-detail the "whole" car. Regards : Damnit. All I know is I cleaned the car before going down to a little car show/350Z thing at a Nissan dealer and the car was mint. I drove peacefully home with the radio off and NEVER heard a damn thing. Yet I get home to find a nice 3" gash in my damn hood with plenty of non-removable scratches next to it. And to top it off whatever it was that hit my car also hit the windshield and left 2 gashes in it right in the line of vision. How the HELL did I not see/hear this!? I don't even listen to the radio anymore, just the car.
: Damnit. I'm one that doesn't mind touching up chips and scratches...it's part of life with a car and I don't fret it. But this is bullshit...right on my near perfect hood in the middle and you can't touch up those side scratches (didn't buff out). WTF...the ONE thing I hated about my NA so much was the slight mismatched colors in the front hood/fascia. Now I have to repaint a 13 year old paintjob on the hood and pray to GOD for a match. Fuck. Vent off. : Anyone have any miracle ideas? I'm wondering about trying a detailed touchup and color sanding by a pro...nothing to lose. Do I even stand a chance? I'd rather live with a decent coverup than a mismatched color hood. : :
